The Discovery
Honestly, we stumbled onto something pretty incredible. While hiking through the old volcanic trails near Whistler, we found these obsidian deposits that locals had used for centuries. The energy was just... different. That's when the idea hit us - what if we could bring that ancient earth power into a modern wellness experience?
Building the Dream
Two years of planning, designing, and yeah... plenty of sleepless nights. We worked with local Indigenous communities to understand the land's history and with top architects to create something that respected both the mountain's character and our guests' need for luxury. It wasn't always smooth sailing, but we were committed to getting it right.
Opening Our Doors
March 15th - the day we officially welcomed our first guests. I'll never forget the look on their faces when they experienced the volcanic stone treatments for the first time. That's when we knew we'd created something special. Not just another luxury hotel, but a real connection to the earth beneath our feet.
Adapting & Growing
When the world changed, we adapted. Enhanced our wellness programs, created more private experiences, and deepened our focus on what really matters - genuine connection, rest, and healing. Our guests needed us more than ever, and we rose to meet that need.
Expanding the Experience
Added our adventure packages and upgraded the wine cellar to one of BC's finest. We realized our guests wanted more than relaxation - they wanted memorable experiences that connected them to Whistler's natural beauty and local culture.

We're still that same team with the same vision, just a bit more experienced now. Every day we're learning something new about hospitality, wellness, and what our guests truly need. The journey continues, and we're grateful you're part of it.
